Ok so i am on the phone with dave telling him to come to my house and i am also in the process of locking my car door. I take the key out and along with it comes the lock part that you turn. It broke off and i am pissed and know this is gonna be a bitch to fix.
Well the lock cylinder comes out. But i think I need to get all new keys. So this is gonna suck.
Ok so last night i went to this fellow vdubers house in my hood and traded the guy my ricer wheels for a OEM Votex roof rack and then in return i am trading for my coils. How does that make you guys feel.
Why? You can change the tumblers to match your key you have right now. Its not that hard as long as you know how to read your key to the tumbler number.
Most keys have 6 or 8 tumblers and 4 levels. Most of the time, its one is the lowest and 4 is the highest. From the looks of it, my old 240 key has 8 tumblers, so to read it would be like this:
But, VW will probably read differently, you should be able to have somebody at the dealership to match your key to the tumblers... Its much easier than having two keys or re-keying all you locks for one door.

Well there is a loop at the end of the tumbler. That is what broke on both sides now. I got a new handle so i am good. But now i have a injector leaking on my pulleys. That is what was making that noise Jamin. I drove around all day yesterday and it was leaking
OK well I have a injector leaking............This sucks got the car apart and i am gonna finish it tomorrow. I am actually proud of myself. Did most of the work with some help of Chris(VR6Tuner). He was mostly telling me what to do next and drinking beer. I am gonna try to get another injector but if i cant them i am gonna replace the O-rings on this one to see if that helps.
Also Jamin all day on Monday we drove around with the injector leaking. How does that make you feel?
Man well I now know how Viet felt when he got all those parts. When i got home last night i finished my car and then noticed a box in the Kitchen................It had my name on it and sure enough it was my suspension parts. So I think tomorrow night if andy swings by my job and gives me my coils then Ill be putting them on tomorrow night.
Well got good news, got the coils on the car and also picked up a euro VR lip for 20 bucks. I think i have mad more money than i spent on this car also.............

MONEY SPENT strut bushings--50.00 VR lip--20.00 injectors and O rings---40.00 new door handle---30.00

Ok well i am ordering the control arm bushings some time soon.........got the money just need to find a place that has the best deal.
Also need to fix the door handle and ill be good on that part and i need to find a rear jetta handle so if anybody goes to a junk yard can you please get it and ill pay you for it. Just make sure it is black.
Ok well since last time.................I got the control arm bushings and they are going on this weekend. I am gonna order the motor mounts i think tomorrow. Also got a EURO VR lip. I also did this cheap mod to amber the turns. Did that and also the door handle i fixed, yeah will it broke again. Also for some reason my MFA only works when the car is cold???????I am also installing a oil PSI gauge. I was doing some reading and found out that it can be handy to have one.
OK so none of you can say i cheap out on my cars n e more cause i buy something every week to make this car better.
I got the control arms out of the car and well the bushings were all pretty much cracked..........LOL........So tomorrow I am going bright and early to MINI cooper to drop them off with lucas so he can press the poly ones in.
OK so to take out the control arm you have to take the bolt out of one of the motor mounts to jack up the motor so you can reach it. Well I grab the tools to do so and i am expecting this to be a hard process.....Well the damn bolt was hand tight and BENT!!!!!!!!!! So i need to see if I can get that from VW tomorrow. But other than that. I also got a auto meter OIL Pressure gauge for 15 bucks and it is brand new. I am ordering the pod right now and gonna get that in the car.

Ok so let me tell you what a difference..............man the car feels so tight and just solid. I also found the bolt for the mount and replaced that. I need to order that damn pod just have been waiting for nothing really...LOL...Also did a oil change but that is nothing special. I want to get motor mounts next and also i need tires. If anybody can get me a good deal on some 205/50/15's let me know please.
Other than that I am thinking of what direction to go with this car. Sounds wierd but most of you know this is my dream car and I love it to death and as you can see with this thread I have done alot to this car since I have gotten it. I am not sure just yet if I just wanna go low and slow..............I really just want to enjoy it as I always pictured it.

I would like to spend about 200 bucks if not less...........I just need the tires i can get the mounted somewere else. I just want a decent tire that is good in the rain. Owning a VR and driving in the rain sucks. You cant even give if half throttle.
