well i finally got me a new turbo. but its a used one i found on tamparacing. its a t3 but it has a huge exhaust housing and turbine. I dunno if it works yet, but i got it for $60. I'm currently in the process of getting all together.
well damn i tried to change exhaust housings so i could use the the internal wastegate, but the damn turbine wheel is gigantic. I definately miscalculated the sizes. the exhaust side is ridiculously huge almost thinking its t4ish. I hope josh is willing to trade his turbo for this or maybe jon can use it. unless i can get an external wastegate for it. the compressor side is definately a t3 i think its .48 or .43 one of those but its as small as the volvo ones.
oh i finally openned up the other turbo and found out the problem was. Something you'd never think would ever happen........well if you tried guessing your probably wrong. What happen was the shaft on the exhaust side got severed somehow and the turbine was stuck in the housing. I had to hammer it to get it out. So I think if i can get a rebuild kit and a new turbine shaft and wheel i could probably reuse it.
my turbo's do that, the shaft is so light, so puny, that it won't take much abuse. it looks like you got jipped on the turbo. sounds like someone was swapping different parts of turbo's to make a hybrid turbo, and you got the leftover parts one, either that or someone doesn't know what they had, did they say what they were using it on?

it took forever to get the exhaust housing off. We had to take it off because my downpipe wouldn't bolt up to it and my old wastegate housing thing was a different pattern then the volvo one. then we put everything on the car and found out we had to clock the compressor housing because it didn't line up too the charg piping. So we had to take almost everything of then put it back together. I may have left a few things out but it was one problem after another.
