i was thinking about doing water injection rather than a front mount since everyone that gets it goes crazy...and i found these guys, devils own. funny enough its like the same price as a jrc front mount. they have a progressive controller and way cheaper than aquamist.
not bad. i don't know if water injection should be used over a larger intercooler though. since you'd have to constantly fill the tank up. Unless you have a giant one you can put somewhere. also is water injection as consistent as a front mount?
I think that water inj. should be used in conjuction with a fmic.....then again you can just go a/w.
it looks like a pretty nice kit. I think that would definatley be cooler than a front mount. Ive always heard good things about water injection. That system varies the pump instead of using a solenoid, I wonder if there is any diference. Probably not but that seems more reliable than the solenoid.
but when have you heard of someone having their fuel injector fail? as long as your connections are good, i dont think there would be a problem with reliability.
i think water injection is way more efficient than a front mount.
i'm sure its just as reliable, but i was wondering if it were as consistant or better then an intercooler? i'll try to go find stuff on the internet, but i still think it should be used in conjusction with a larger intercooler rather than by itself or with a smic.

well just yesterday i pulled up to this stop light and there was a bum on the corner with a sign. So I asked him how he got into the sign business and he told me. He told me he was driving his car and all of a sudden all 8 injectors (SC400) went bad. So he had to ditch the car and just wound up homeless. Injectors do fail so I'd be careful.
and yeah, i agree a lot of people think of it as a crutch to run more timing or whatever and you shouldnt. but i do think that it is a pretty worthwhile investment.
also i think i may have determined that i will just keep the stock turbo on this car, so getting those intake temps down once that thing turns into a molten ball at full boost is a priority. anyway, front mount would probably be first
As a side note - Volvo recently released some SAE papers documenting the use of cooled EGR to both reduce detonation and return to a stoic mixture under boost in the 15 psi range - while maintaining approximately the same power output. Notice - they reduced fuel and still get the same power output.
after reading this part i think water injection is definatley better than a front mount since i doubt you could run a stoic mixture under boost with a front mount and you definatley wouldnt make the same power
