Project car (progress)

I figured this would be a good place to keep track of whats been done to the car since we picked it up.

May 30
- purchased car
- towed car to my place
- Removed headliner
- removed hood
- generally looked it over
- charged battery

June 1
- Relocated car to MY garage
- sprayed down enigne and front bumper with tire shine (looks good)

June 3

- checked all fuses
- checked spark plugs (look brand new, just covered in fuel and a little black)
- checked coil resistance
...........- to center was 3.19 x 1000 ohms
...........+ to center was the same
............and + to - was almost no resistance (lik .001)
- put a volt meter on the coil and we're getting spark as long as i crank it ( i think that timing fuse may have done this)
- checked a couple cylenders, and they are getting spark too

Im going to take pics of the plus that arent connected and the pcv valve looking thing and post them up on audi world or fortitude. also, tomorrow lou is coming to swap wheels and whatnot.....and he's giving us the DTM muffler off of the jetta cuz its getting strait pipes

summary - car doesnt run

that sounds good that it keeps the spark going. so now that it has spark it could be the timing

so if we get it running should we try and do Project $50 Turbo setup?

haha, 50 bucks, yeah.

well i did a little work on the coupe today. not much, did some looking around, figued out that this one thing was the cruise control, and hooked the vac line back up.

i pulled out the washer resevior and pump....which i think is going on my car for IC sprayer.

and i started gutting the interior a little. heres a pic of that, and the new steering wheel.

also, the seats wouldnt fit in the jetta, so we get to keep them. we're switching the wheels when lou goes and buys new tires for them.

heres a link also to a thread i posted on fortitude.

I think if we build it, it would be under 200 bones and we could just keep the stock ignition system.

Then we could enter it into the $2006 challenge
