airflow chart

Hey i've been researching compressor maps, and airflow and what not. i made a CFM chart for the 1.8t to make reading the compressor maps easier.

check it out

very nice! what was that formula that you used to get that? I thought there were other numbers that were had to be guestimated unless you knew what they were.

so have you compared any compressor maps yet? which turbo seems to fit the best on the 1.8t?

what i used for that was

Pressure ratio (PR) = (14.7+boost)/14.7

and CFM = (Liters*RPM*VE*PR)/5660

i asummed the volumetric efficiency to be 90% , that was generally the estimate for 4valves/cylender, and i have 5 so it can only be better

and cfm/14.27 =lbs/min

here's the same thing in lbs/min, since a lot of maps are in that

that is very nice indeed. very useful

where did you get the formula from? the maximum boost has a 1/2 in there to half the rpm cause of the one exhaust stroke per 2 revolutions

i guess that must have been factored into the equation already, because the numbers seem to be in the right ballpark.
