hello everyone. I need track wheels. I don't know anything about what's better or what's worse besides wider gives more traction. and I don't even know how wide of wheels I can handle on my car or anything. I have 15" steelies and I wouldn't mind even getting another set of those, just having 2 sets of tires is what I want. I have 4 lugs now. Any advice on how to get wheels, or if anyone has any laying around, for under like 50 bucks, let me know. Thanks. -Eric (941)224-8156
I believe Lou may have some that he's willing to let go in a while. I'm not sure about those Honda offsets but I'm pretty sure they're all 4x100 bolt pattern. As far as how wide you want, I think in stock classes you cant go any bigger or wider than what came available for your car. So you're kinda limited there. Basically just find the lightest possible wheel available. And I'm sure Lucas will have some stuff to say about tires.
ok guys so these track wheels, I'm thinking about several things here, first getting a wheel/tire package from tirerack and make those my track wheels and leave the ones I have now for daily driving. I would get a pretty sticky tire for my track wheels obviously. or I could spend that money getting struts, the koni yellows I've been talking to some of you about getting. I think the wheels would save me more money in the future with tires and all, but the struts would probly help performance more, and they are about the same price, but which one should I get? or should i get my windows tinted first, at the end of summer, ha.
I actually think sticky tires will help out more. Plus I believe if your still on a street tire i dont think it will bump you up to a different class. so i think you could get something like the azenis.

I'm not sure if this applies to your generation of civics but if you go 8 wide you may need to roll your fenders, add camber, and you may not be able to with as wide of tire because you may rub on the inside of the tire.

I guess you never saw the Pontiac commercials. They told me "wider is better" in multiple languages.
I agree on the tires. I think that would be faster than shocks. Shocks will enhance the cars behavior but wont help much with overall grip. Some azenis will definately make you faster.
that would be awesome, I've been looking into just going all out and buying a bundle of Falken Hanabi wheels (15X7 42mm offset, 10 lbs!, $95 a wheel) and some azenis (205/50/15) for a total of 679 plus shipping. Those dimensions sound good to you guys? but if you could find me some lightish wheels for a better price, that would be sweetness.
I just found out that the stock civic si rim size is 16X6.5, so I think 15X7 would kick me out of stock right? they don't make the hanabi's in less than 7 in wide, so I think I'm looking for something else, unless you guys know something I don't. but if I get 6.5 in wide wheels, should I go back to 195/50/15 tires? cause I did read the hondatech thing and wider wheels spread the width of the contact area of the tire, but reduce the total area. I just have so many options right now, I could even get the hanabi's and not say anything. yeah, so Lucas, start looking for either 6 or 6.5 in wheels please. everyone else, advice needed...
probably under 100 a wheel, but I want really light ones. I found some Konig Heliums, for 90 a wheel, and 13$ shipping, which may be for each wheel I don't know. 11.5 lbs, 15X6.5 with a 40 offset, so they would be legal for me to run the stock class in. but those were on ebay, so no free mounting and balancing, but I could get my azenis at vulcan tire and get free tire totes! woohoo.
Eric, if you want to see what the falkens with 205's installed look like on your car just stop by sometime. We can put them on and take some pics. Let me know.

ok, so I need help with another aspect of my car, the clutch. I want the catch point to be closer to the floor, but my clutch is hydraulic so I can't "adjust" it, but I looked harder and found that you can adjust the push rod or the bolts on the pushrod or something, I found my pushrod and it only has 1 nut on it, and that won't come loose, do you guys know anything about what to do? here's my pics of the pushrod and stuff:
It doesnt look like you have any adjustment on that rod. Its hard to tell if its adjustable from the pictures but if it is then turn that nut all the way to the end of the threads on the firewall side of the rod and then thread the rod into the pedal and retighten the nut.
