I got rear-ended by a Tacoma. It was his fault. I was driving down 275 and came up to some traffic, the car in front of me locked her brakes, I slowed down fast and the guy behind me decided he didnt have to slow down so he nailed me from behind. We were both fine but the car didnt come out so good. The bumper and trunk are destroyed and the center of the car underneath the trunk is bent in. The insurance company isnt open until Monday but I think they're gonna total it. I have no idea what I'm gonna do. But luckily the guy that hit me owned a seafood company and was delivering some fresh shrimp so he gave me a couple pounds of shrimp cause he felt bad for plowing into my car.
And to make the day worse, my cousins came into town today so I took them to the go-kart track. I was driving and kinda got into the wall with a guy and my cart went dead at the same time leaving me sitting on the track. Then some dude comes flying up and hits me from behind going full speed. My helmet whipped back and smacked into the rollbar hard. So twice today my head has been bashed.
Dude, this makes me very sad. I didn't even get a chance ever to ride in the Dr. Seuss car... I'm just glad you're alright, that's always a good thing. Let me know what your plans are, and if you need me to help out with new car hunting on this side of the state.
Well the car is totalled but its probably gonna be a little while before I know how much I'll get for it.
But while I wait, I'll ask what you guys think.
I'm thinking about taking the check and getting an Impreza 2.5RS, then swapping in an ej20 or whatever the good subie engines are(I dont know a whole lot about them subarus).
The other option is to buy the car back, pull out the crushed in parts, get a new hood and trunk, paint the whole car (probably flat black cause its an audi), and spend the rest of the money on the 4.2L, suspension, wheels and tires.
Basically what I want to do is build a competitive street mod car that can also carry a surfboard easily.
i'm liking the Subaru idea. I don't think buying back your car is a good idea because I don't think you could afford to fix it and get it to where you want it. then again i don't know how much your getting and how much it'll cost to buy back.
Subie RS all the way.. so i can live through you vicariously!! In all seriousness, once your car is totaled, it will never be the same again. Have you tried looking for another A4?
I would see how much you are gonna get for the car and how much to buy it back before you decide to keep it or not, It might be more than its worth to fix it, or best case scenario, you might get enough $ to be able to buy the a4 back and buy another car, who knows?
My vote goes for Subby because Boxer motors sound sick, but then again V8's do too...hmmm
if you fix it up again, and get rear-ended or wrecked again, you won't get the same amount of money for it, and will be worse off. i say scooby FTW. the audi has reigned, and i think it's time to lose a little weight, gain some reliability and change countries.
