Ok, just in case no one is keeping up with what is going on up there. Apparently there are like 10 LEO's patrolling the road as of late. Giving people ridiculous tickets just because. I wanted to give you guys a heads up, not sure how long they are going to be around. But check it out on killboy.

I reserved 2 rooms at the Topoco lodge. She said that they wont let you check in with more than 2 people per room so that could be a problem. Whos goin for sure? Might have to make it 3 rooms

I really wish I could go. But, the money I'd use to go unfortunately is being funnelled into the Cafe bike, which at the moment, is more important, as it's getting close to be done, and am getting ancy. Nor do I trust the Corrado for that far of a haul yet.

yeah, I'm thinking that might be the case, cause unless those cops are way out of hand, we're definitely going. thanks for reserving rooms though. if you could get one more that would be great, or just tell us where to reserve one.

actually andrea and i aren't gonna be able to make it this time. its gettin a little crazy with our transfers and stuff and we're gonna have to use that weekend to look for housing. but the way things have chenged we might end up like 2 hors away from the dragon, we could do this again and you all could stay with us instead of gettin a hotel for the dragon.

jon are you gonna be able to get you money back for our room or find someone to stay in it? let me know.

hmmm maybe we should postpone it for a later date so that everyone is rdy to go. i'd think it would be more fun to have everyone to go. maybe we can plan it for longer then 3 days. its up to you guys though.

I would honestly like to stay a week. There are SO many other roads up there, but it takes more than a few days to explore them. And there is a lot of 'stuff' to do up there. Don't laugh, but I want to go fly fishing, I love it, and that area is some of the best for it. Just stuff like that. What do you guys think?

Well, there are places for that too. Just need like a canoe or something similar, I'm sure there are ones to rent.

But like here, don't know if you guys have ever stopped here. But it's amazing to just sit and listen to nothing at all.

That's US129, the bridge, basically the end of the dragon itself.

And that is a park, which is like the one road off the Dragon, there are grills and such too.

I'd love to do some trouting in ankle deep water. I've actually wanted to go fly fishing for a long time. I've done plenty of fishing but never fly fishing. A week would be awesome up there. I know it would be hard for everyone to get a week off at the same time but I am definately down for it. There are so many fun roads to drive and its fun just driving in the mountains. Theres other stuff to do too like Gatlinburg, snowboarding if we go in the winter, biking, bombing hills on longboards.

So I guess we'll cancel this trip for me, Viet and Eric and perhaps go a different time for a real vacation and lots of driving. Anyone want to do that?

Ps: Eric I think you guys were gonna make a detour somewhere? Are you guys still gonna go up there?

we're thinking, we might be going up there to check out the abandoned race track near savannah and maybe still go to Raliegh to see my roommates hometown, who knows about the dragon though. we might just spend all weekend driving random roads if the cops are still on the dragon, we looooove to explore. Last night we drove towards apopka and explored some country roads for about 3 hours, drove 100 miles. it's what we do. so maybe in answer to your question.

so whens the new dates for the dragon trip? i think it would be awesome to go for more than three days....but it makes it really hard on those of us who (need to) work to make those rent payments ya know? i think the 3 day weekend works best for most people. you guys think we could plan for like late october or early novemberish?

My uncle said I could bring some people and stay at his house. This is a pretty good deal because he is about 45 minutes from the dragon. It also includes free lodging, some free meals, wakeboarding on his boat and my cousin is going to flight school so he could take us for a plane ride.
