I haven't for the past few years, it really lost its excitement for me. A few people I talk cars with have been telling me that this year has been pretty exciting, but without cable I haven't seen any of the first races.
The reason, I have been told, for the build up in excitement is 22 year old Rookie Lewis Hamilton. He has been groomed for F1 by McLaren, with a contract, since he was 13 and it seems like McLaren has gotten their money's worth, if you ask me. So far in his first three races as a F1 driver, he went 3rd, 2nd, and 2nd to be tied for first in the points race.
Going through Youtube, I found this.. looks like there was some butt puckering moments...finally in an F1 race. But just watch his control and he never leaves the race line as the two Ferrari's squirm about and try some ill-fated moves.

Well I could probably say this, if he had been picked from age 13 to drive F1 at 22. I would bet in those years where we were having fun and doing stupid things in High School and Middle School, he was doing nothing but driving. While at first this seems fantastically awesome, but really think about it. Imagine what you did in your younger years, and then imagine never having done some of those things, that's probably what his life was like. While really cool, and I'd love to pilot one, you can count me out for being the 'chosen one' since the age when I was doing stupid things like throwing chairs in bonfires. Can you throw a Mclaren engine into a bonfire? No. Just my 2 cents.
His first win at the Canadian GP. He is strong, and he drives hard... harder than everybody else. I was amazed when I watched him racing at Monaco, before the team told him to slow down (this was of course after he lapped the 4th place car) chasing after Alonso, banging off the walls, sliding the ass end around on the last hairpin smoking the tires, just giving the car a work out.
--Crash.net-- Perhaps realising that not much is 'better than sex', as he so eloquently described his maiden Formula One pole position, Lewis Hamilton was forced to re-evaluate his pleasure scale after taking victory in the Canadian Grand Prix.
The Briton took a consummate success in a race marked by four safety car periods, two disqualifications and a serious-looking accident for Robert Kubica, to open out an eight-point lead in the championship as his rivals all appeared to self-destruct.
--This is what he had to say after the win today---
"I was just trying to control myself, to be honest," he said of the final lap, "I wanted to stop the car and jump out and just do, I don't know, cartwheels or something! I just had to keep it going. The last few laps, I was just counting them down. I'm the type of guy who usually pushes right to the end, but it's a tricky circuit and, if you make one mistake, you get on the marbles and you're in the wall, so I quietened down towards the end and just enjoyed it. It really was about just enjoying the whole moment.
It was extremely emotional. To get all way into Formula One and to have my first pole, my first win and who had fastest lap? It has been a fantastic day. This is history. We've had six podiums and I've been ready for the win for quite some time. It was just a matter of when and where. The team gave me the best car. I had no problems during the race at all, apart from a few safety cars which sort of made it a little bit boring at some points. But, as soon as we got going, it was exciting again. I have to dedicate this win to my Dad because without him this would not have been possible."
I am watching the race now... it is pretty boring the first safety car lifted and Lewis got a 3 second lead on the following lap. Two laps later the car came back out. Back to reading the highlights.
