whos in?? Alright guys, we have finally gotten around to putting together a Lakeland meet.. heres the info When: *Last Saturday of every month* -- @ 9pm (starting January 20th) Where: BestBuy Parking lot-- Lakeland Exit 32 off I-4 Why: To bridge the gap between the central florida guys and the west coast guys. This should be a great way for everyone to get to know eachother more, meet new people, and somewhat try to get central-ish florida together. (without having to acutally take a trip to Orlando for us, or Sarasota/ Tampa for them. This has been brought up before, and is a good idea, and hopefully will work out well. We obviously know that there is a little drive for the tampa guys to get there, the Orlando guys to get there, and of course the Sarasota guys-- thats why we decided to start it a little later than usual. And becuase of later start time, the meets will probably operate a little different than other meets around town-- Will probably stay later, and there will probably wont be like a group going out to dinner thing.. but of course things can/ will change.. Map: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/m...33809 I really think this will be worth the drive to meet, and hang out with some Orlando guys and others from the area. (and vice versa for you orlando guys!) This will be a good way to get the year going, and get excited about SouthFlorida GTG (which will be 3 weeks later) any questions just shoot us a message!
i'll be there, and even when my bug is running again, i won't be taking it out there(cost to much on tires, suspension) but i'll have a second vehicle to drive out there no-problem!

Lets start the planning THE drive.
Looking at our normal points of interest like: Lake Louisa, Lake Apopka, and Mt. Verde should we meet I-4 and 27 for the drive? Or we could meet at the Best Buy and take 35 up to that extremely strait road up to 50. I WILL have to get my alignment before then if we do that...
Also food, haven't worked too hard on finding anything just yet. But this is what I have so far:
I think Lake louisa is a good place to meet. We can drive that for awhile and then head up to the clermont and surrounding areas. As far as which roads are good, Im not real sure. Anyone got some suggestions?
The TikiBar looks like a sweet place. I like the dock on the lake
Maybe we can hit 2 retsraunts? one for lunchish time and another for dinner before heading to lakeland

I like the road that runs right along Lake Apopka. It is a good 15 miles and very scenic with probably the best hills that I have ever been on in Florida. It is a very peaceful ride, there are also a few roads off 441 south of Mt Dora that are nice and they make their way out to Mt Plymouth/Sorrento area.

saturday is coming up. You guys want to meet at Lake Luisa state park at 2pm? then cruise out of there for a good cruise, end up at Lake Eustis for BBQ and then head to lakeland?
We need more drivers interested. We need to promote this
PS: this drive will include
very tasty BBQ full throttle acceleration senic vistas threshold braking cruising slurpee stops and possible late apexes
