As a few of you may know, I've accumulated some debt, that I really do not care to have. I'm starting school in january, cutting my hours back at work, and I'm looking at this like it may break me. I recieved an offer of 8k on the miata last night. I DO NOT want to sell this car. But I also want to have a clear credit report, and no weight on my shoulders, so I can concentrate on school. I can buy a pretty sick vdub for 4k, and use the remaining 6 to pay EVERYTHING off, and still have a good amount to put away as a buffer. What do you guys say? Keep the Miata O' Doom and just fight through it. Or should I sell it, (I could probabley talk him up to 9k) clear my debt, and get myself back into a dub?
Umm yeah you must need school cause 4k+6K=10K. So if you were offered 8k then you will only have 4k left.........now that is cleared up. Debt is a bitch but hey i have been there b4 and know it sucks. Yes you can get a Vdub for 4k but i wouldnt cause all you are gonna get is a car that needs money put in it. I know this first hand. If you think you are gonna get a corrado well think again cause a corrado for 4k is a POS or a G60. Also I have noticed that Corrado parts are more $ than a MKIII. I think you are better of keeping the car and riding it out. You have a nice car that is complete and has all the mods done to it. For one month I had no insurance and my car was sitting in my garage cause the tag expired and no insurance or a job. I had it for sale and got offers on it, But i figured out a way to get to work and get the money to get me back on my feet. If you sell it cool and good luck with a new car, but dont buy a VW if you think you are just gonna drive it and not have to put money in it. My Jetta now was owned by a VW Parts Manager and it breaks ever week. Just keep the Miata you will miss and in kick your self in the ass.

That's the nice thing about cars, you can always buy/build another one down the road, just like the one you have. However, getting your finances effed up, or skipping out on education is something that can haunt you forever. Case in point, i've had a lot of neat cars, but i really really really wish i had stayed in school, because i'd be out by now, making real money in a career, not just a piss poor job. I would be much better off. Besides, 8k$ is a ****load of money.
i havent been in debt but for too long now i've been scrappin' by paycheck to paycheck and that sucks man. i'm just now getting back on my feet now that i've got a couple loans paid off. i would definalty rather sell a car, get a cheaper one and still have milk money than stay in a car that's gonna make it tough to even pay for gas to put in it. its not worth the risk.
