Ive been looking into a better digital. the point and shoot just doesnt get the shots i want.... I found some descent deals on bestpricecamera.com, they had some d70 packages for around 700 that seems descent.. Any camera experts to chime in, and help guide me! I don't know ****
the d50 is getting uber cheap now since the d80 is out and ****. (its what i have) i think i saw an ad for like $549 or something. not sure if that had a lens or not though. Seriously it'll do what you want.
costco had a D50 package for like $700 came with the body, 24-70mm lens and 70-300mm lens i believe, it also come with a bag. i got my dad the same thing for fathers day. just my opinion, i would spend the extra money and get a canon EOS. i knew someone who was a big nikon guy, he shot with a canon for a bit and ended up sellin all his nikon stuff and converted to all canon. i would say just do some research, find out what you think you'd need and what you wouldn't and shop around. i would also defintatly stay away from online places. if somethin happens to the camera you're **** out of luck unless you luck out and they offer somekind-of warranty, and even if they do agree to fix your camera it'll probably take months you'll be with out you camera. this place on busch blvd, North Tampa Photography, if you buy from them and you're camera breaks they'll take care of it and if they have to ship it out they'll give you a camera to use in the meantime. that's what i've been told by my teachers here at school and they have been dealing with thatt place for years. anyway, D50, D70, canon 20D are awesome digital SLR's that are good to learn on and will keep you happy for a good while. a little research and shopping go a long way.
