hey you know a lot about computers, you think you know what i need to do to fix it? i've reformatted the hard-drive, re-installed windows xp and it seems to run fine but the wireless internet won't work and it does a couple other weird things like when i scroll down on like an internet page for example its not a smooth scroll, its choppy and slow and makes me nausious. you think you could take a look at it sometime? i just want my stupid internet to work so i don't have to go to school or my parents house to use the internet.
i dont know its been crapping out on me lately (not letting me use the internet, running slow, etc.) so i reverted the hard drive and then it worked great untill the next morning when i started it up and it said "load error press any key to continue". when i do it says the same thing. so i thought i'd try to revert it again but when i put the cd in to do that it starts the program and then says "eject!" and spits the cd out.
any suggestions? i'm dreading having to take to it to a computer place and have to spend a lot of money getting it fixed. maybe it just time to get a new one?

yeah so my laptop is still on the fritz, computer itself works but not word yet on the internet. at least it works enough that i can use it for what i need to with school stuff(i.e. photoshop). there's a computer place 5 minutes from the apartment i might swing by there when i get a chance and have them look at it. probably wanna charge me my first born to fix it or somethin, hopefully its somethin a NON computer-literate person like me can do! lol
i'll bring it the to the next cftc meet..........which should be tonight right? if we are havin one tonight then i'll try and be there with the laptop, gotta do a bunch of things today so i'm not 100% i'll be there.
so i tried to do what you told me to Nam. I updated my windows to service pack 2 but i still cant get the wireless internet working, it works fine when the cable is plugged in but not when isnt. anyway, i guess we could try that thing you were talkin about with the cable the next time we have a meet.
so i ended up takin my laptop to a place down the street and the guy had to install a new driver and video card and stuff. its fixed now and im finally able to use the beloved internet again in the comfort of my own apartment.
