so I think i've thought of a way to get at least an inch out of the front...
my thought is.. Take out the spacer, and cut about an inch out of the rubber at the top, leaving enought room to hold the bearing of coarse.. so what do you think? I know there is some smarter then me suspension guru's on here..
I think the spacer is there so that the bearing can do it job. And if you cut the mount, I think its going to make a clunking noise when you hit bumps.
But I have never worked on a VW's suspension, so I could be completely wrong.

there is a similar spacer on the stock suspension that I know (via the vortex) people have removed to get that 1/4 inch, to cure reverse rake on lowering springs.. I could use a flat washer if it really needed to be there. anyone know about cutting that big rubber strut mount?? I would think it would be okay, as long as the bearing still had its rest point on the bottom...and nothing was floating...
