I'd rather have a regular sti. and how is that an ATV if he only uses one type of terrain? good job on a cool little project, but its pretty much useless.
Yeah its pretty cool, except for the fact that its not road legale, and he was not allowed to compete in the event that it was built for, and he says hes unsure if he even would have. And he needs to get some real tires and go tear some stuff up. And mr2s are pretty sweet.
Thats an asian chick, shes much more likely pointing at you, an asian, then me, as she prob would have to point all the way back to teh mother land, at least judging by the age of the pic, and how many times Ive seen it floating around the net.

have you ever looked at the rear suspension of an mr2? macpherson strut front and rear, toyota was to damn ghey/cheap to redesign it so they just put a front upright in the rear and put a tie rod to keep it from turning, essentially they took the front half of a fwd car and put it in the rear....
So...what you are trying to say is the 4 time JGTC winner is a bad handleing car...
Am I understanding you correctly?
You missing the point of the MR2. It was super car fun/looks for a 1/10 of the price. They drive great, sound great and I have yet to be in a car where I find myself rocking this sh it eating grin for no reason. I will have another one once I get all this totalled 240sx **** taken car of.
And the only time the Macpherson has anyproblem is in super bumpy corners. Other than that, no bump steer, no crazy camber changes mid corner. So it kept it safer to drive because 99% of the people that bought them were secretary's that wanted a sports car, so their rich husbands got them a MR2. So I think they did a great job.
Lou...who is that?

If you really think that the JGTC car is anything remotely close to a street car then you got some reading to do, even then, the driver makes the car, i dont seem to see where your coming from with camber change mid corner, you make it sound as if it were a bad thing, even then, its not like its a sudden change, it comes linearly with the suspension travel, which in turn would keep the tire flatter in relation to the pavement to provide more grip during a turn, well you said it yourself, its an ECONOMY car, i give props to toyota for attempting to make an affordable sports car, but in the end, its just an economy car with the motor in the wrong place, either way, i'm done with this thread, you can argue all you want, but at least to me, i dont see an mr2 as a "sports car"
What makes a sports car? I think that at least in my mind the mr2 is a sports car, I had one and lived with it for 3 years, which I belive, or at least feel you really need to do to truly understand a car, not just drive it briefly but dirve it often, and hard. I think that it was light weight for what it was, with a for the time when it was desinged (early 80s) realtively powerfull high revving motor, with a mid-engine layout. But to me a sports car is a vehicle that is enjoyable to drive, and to me the mr2 was just that. Though driving long distances could be a bit tedius. I really enjoyed it, and in some ways wish I hadnt sold it, though ac is pretty cool.
The best part about owning my MR2. IT IS DIFFERENT.
Loading the grocery into the Frunk and having people ask me where the motor was. The thrill I got from stoping the gas at the clipping point when I turned onto Chapman from Aloma and seeing the faces from the people when I flew past them.
I had a 240sx with $2300 into the suspension. A suspension that was almost 100% identical to your precious 350z. I FU CKING HATED THAT CAR. Ask anybody on this board that knows me, I never fell the love for it. All I wanted back was my MR2, and I would do anything right now to get the bike on the road and have the MR2 in the same sitting. But it isn't in the cards. So I will keep the go-cart SE-R and continue with life.
So...you can argue all you want to, but I am set in my ways. My MR2 was bar-none my favorite car of all time. 100% Satisfaction, Billy Mays might even back me up on this one. My dumbass just blew it up.
And on the way home late tonight, I was reminded with the windows down, the music up.... I LOVE driving. Not driving fast, boosting, clutch kicking, getting sideways. Being in my car (that I have now) makes me happy...it was a feeling that I didn't have with the 240, never was really thrilled to be in it. Its the cool wind buffering across my face, with my left arm sticking out catching the briskness of the night, always ready to break late on a red light so I can quick rev-match 4th, 3rd, 2nd and bouce off the brakes and roll backwards. The 240 was a grocery getter on coilovers and I never felt theses feeling, the MR2 was a fun to drive SPORTSCAR. A sports car that I just didnt get into, I put it on like a sweater, zipped it up and let it get warm-up around me....... so far nothing has replaced its 'heat.'

agreed. I like the stoke. I think that last part pretty much sums up what CFTC is all about. We all just like to drive our cars. Its more than just operating a vehicle or modding the style. Its the personal attacthment to the car that makes it a representation of yourself.
