So this link will show the progress of my newly bought 1994 VW Golf 4 Door GL 2.0L. I am in the progress of cleaning it up and doing some maintence on it (spark plugs, air filter, oil, new vaccum lines). Next step is to dump it with a nice new cup kit and then custom exhaust.
Well here's an update. i suspected the jetta a little more than when i bought it and the suspension, exhaust, and the brakes are two sh*ts to the wind. So i just ordered new motor mounts, front brakes and rotors, poly control arm bushings, cabin air filter, new axles, ram air intake, upper strut bar, and spark plugs. I wanna get this jetta up and running so i can make it my daily driver. then i will put the fully rebuilt motor in and lower it
actually thats funny u mentioned the jetta...i no longer own the jetta since 10pm last night. one of my good friends was wanting to sell a mk3 golf 4 door that he just put a ton of money into the motor and fix it up. i have always wanted a 4 door golf so i convinced him we should trade and after 3 hours of talking we did an even trade. i guess my bachelors degree in marking and management paid of.
i will take some pictures of the golf up tomorrow and let u guys see it. i think it has alot more potential than the jetta
Hey man sucks that you sold the Jetta, but its F!CKING sweet that you got a 4door Golf, just make me this one promise that you will rip off my front end and put it on the golf.
yeah the golf is going pretty good. had temp sensor but other than that the car runs sweet. i have been so busy with work but i will post up some pics tomorrow when i get a free second. on and yeah i wouldn't mind doing a front end sway with a jetta. i like the jetta front end look a little bit better than the golf.
sorry guys my camera hasn't been working. i will get some pics up tomorrow. alot is in store for the golf. i just got a nice suspension for it. its bilstein sport shocks, custom valved for my car and h&r race springs. they should be on by the end of friday night. also i got a 2 inch techtonics catback exhaust. i have some alpine speakers for the doors that will be in shortly, reduing the headliner, and poly bushings in the control arms. it should be sitting nice before the weekend. what i need to find is some vr6 mk3 factory brakes and calipers and hubs so i can put 5x100 wheels on the golf instead of 4x100 and get rid of the rear drum brakes. if i can find that i am going to probably buy my friends bbs RXII wheels. they are real 2 piece wheels and they are 16's, which is what i am looking for. let me know if u know anyone that has those brakes for sale.
you have to call the manufacture of the shocks and tell them what you want. they will make them custom valved for your liking. i am not sure about who all does custom shock work but bilstein did it for me. here are some pics of the car stock.
well about the suspension being put on. well when me and my buddy where doing the front suspension, we were having a hard time trying to get two of the buttom bolts out of the shocks. two of the bolts snapped right in half like twigs. after looking them over we notice that aren't factory and really cheap replacement bolts. whoever owned the car to start with had some idiot repair man put monroe shocks in the front with cheap bolts. because i worked on the car friday night, i had to leave the golf on jack stands until tomorrow(Monday) with i can go to the dealership and get new bolts. so i won't have pics up until i get new bolts. well i guess i have to wait until i get them to see how the stance of the car is.

not better than your jetta. its got potential though
are you talking about my silver mk4 jetta or the black mk3 jetta that i just traded for the golf. I was asking about the mk3's wheather you liked the jetta or golf better. i think u thought i was talking about the mk4 jetta. i am pretty much done with the silver mk4 jetta. i like the way it turned out and its got all the refinements i wanted
ok guys here some pics of the golf lowered on bilstein sport shocks and h&r lowering springs. its sitting pretty nice just need to tighten the back shocks and the car is ready to drive
here is the new look of my golf. its now lowered, steelies are now painted hot green, and so is the vw symbol in the front and back. let me know what u guys think
thanks guys im a long way from what i want the golf to look like. the next step is to paint the rub strips. i was thinking about painting them the same green as the wheels or flat black. i am leaning to flat black cause i think too much green might be too much. what cha guys think should i do, flat black or green?!?
