so many options...

...yes yes i know, i've been rather lax in getting to the meets these past two weeks with the new car, if it's not one thing, it's another, i'm sure you all understand. but i'm having a hard time deciding what i want to do, styling wise, on the gti. and i've been having a bit of fun on that dubmodder thing, and wanted to see if anyone else had some ideas. here is what it sort of looks like now, with the much too big 17's...

and i'm trying to decide between no flares/flares, no skirts/skirts. and i'm really digging this look here:

but i'm worried about wheel fitment without flares, i feel i'll be too limited as far as offsets go. i was looking at this option only because my flares are a bit on the tired side and i'm missing my passenger side skirt, so if i could roll without them, i might just do that. but i was looking at gti's with 16v flares and full skirts, and i love the way they sit, but i also like the stripped down no trim look. i dont know, what i've noticed is that there are about 4 bazillion options, all of which someone has done, so it's just finding one that suits your needs/wants. what do you all think?

i respect that guys originality, but its just not for me. i like the whole style, but not to the extent that he took it. he takes amazing photos though, seen some of his other pictures. but i'm really thinking no flares/skirts/side moulding, with the small red bumpers. wheels are very undecided, but i wanted to run a 15x8 +0, and i am looking at photos, and i dont think that i could fit them under the fenders alone... i just like the stripped down look of no trim, but i can appreciate the uses of flares, as i mentioned, far too many options.

i found this picture online, somewhere on vortex, and i absolutely love the way this car sits, and from what i can tell, big bumpers, and what look to be like maybe 16v flares? and full skirts of course. and a stupid low wheel offset, and i love it. it's things like this that make me want to keep the flares...

sure does

but if my wheels/tires stuck out past the fenders, without flares, wouldn't i basically just run into the fenders with any amount of suspension movement?

If so, that only means that you have to go stiffer...Raising it is never an option.

but if you just add the flares, the fenders are still in the same spot. so you'd have the exact same situation, with more plastic.

i would probably end up cutting out the fenders, notching them up top for clearance. but we'll see, she's probably going under the knife here shortly, so i'll see what looks good..

i would on both accounts, i know for sure they are going to need to be rolled, and i'd like to see what the x8 +0's fit like on the car...
