Prelude = Totalled, What car to replace it with?

Well as some of you know, My prelude is pretty much totalled after about a month of ownership, Now I'm lookin for something to replace it with, Keep in mind, this car was my daily driver, and I am looking for the same type of car to replace it with, so the car does not need to be super nice or have super low miles, but it needs to have the creature comforts of a daily driver (ac, ps, etc...)

Here is what I've been lookin at so far:

-MK3 Jetta/GTI/Golf - Tryin to find a TDI but they are way expensive

-MK4 2.0 Jetta or Golf if i can find it - the 5 speed shoudlnt be too slow

-Maybe an Early B5 A4

Any other recomendations? I would like to keep it under $6k since this is gonna be my beater

at first i thought the mk3 tdi was your best option.  but after talking some more last night, i think you should just go for the 2.0 golf or jetta.  It'll be a nicer daily, and you seem to be a fan of the mkIV.

$4038.29 was the estimate, to replace the quarter panel, the car books for somewhere around $5500, so its pretty much totalled

I'm really thinkin about a B5 A4, there are a couple that seem rather affordable...hmmmm

u aslo need to take into consideration that anunder 6 grand caris gonna need money to keep it running. i say dont stray a away from a honda, i mean i prolly have 6 grand in mine right now, and if i did it again i could do it for 4 or less. u could get a civic or teg shell for uber cheap

honda's are great, I've had my fun with them, I'm just lookin for something different, I traded my 96 hatch for the prelude and havn;t looked back, if i buy another honda, its gonna have to be an integra, creature comforts are nice for a daily, at this point i dont know what to do, I have pretty much ruled out Audi's and mk4's, they are gonne be more than i want to spend after all is said and done(maintenence, etc.), I guess i'm lookin at Mk3's at this point, and maybe a 300zx

Just get the teg cause no matter what MKIII you get yours will never be as cool as mine.......

But seriously dont get the teg that **** will probably blow up on you. Cause its terbo and nobody builds a terbo car and just cruises around in it.

I dont think a car with an aftermarket turbo kit would be a first choice for a daily driver.  stick with the vw man so you can cruise with us.

the teg... find our what kind of engine managemnt he is running. no matter what it is get it on the dyno jet and see where u are at with torque and a/f.

if its stand alone tuned or some other piggybag application, ditch it and tune with chrom or uberdata

its all in the tuning

I saw that on tamparacing a while ago, but didnt think it would be a good DD since its turbo'd. I'd just take the 6k and put 2 turbos on the 350 lol.

i agree about not using piggybags, but standalone is no good eh?

The car is tuned on crome, he says the ac blows cold and everything works fine, as far as the wastegate dump, i saw that too, thats the only thing i'm somewhat confused about, either way, it would cost me alot more than $6k to properly boost the Z

let me corect myself on that, so many people use standalone in the wrong term as i just did. standalones i.e. aem on anyother ecu is replacement is fine(on a honda it is a waste of money being crome pro can do the same stuff)

a lot of ppl call vafcs standalones that is what i was getting at, even though it is in fact a piggyback.
