so i've been thinking a lot about megasquirt recently. One of the coolest things abt it for me is that you can do 2-step launch control.
From my understanding....you have a system on switch, push it. then put the clutch in and floor it and the car will hold at X rpms. when you let out the clutch...the clutch pedal switch turns off the system and let you rev away.
On my drive hom from school this morning i realized that if you wanted, you could just put a switch in the cabin instead of a clutch pedal switch. This would allow you to control when its limiting the rpms.....
with this you could turn it on, put it in first and floor it...you can set it at whatever rpms you want to hold you at a certain speed. then flick the switch and your off.
i dunno if we'd ever use it for real, but it would be freakin sick to have. (think rx8 at rolex for those who went)
It is funny that you mention that cause that is all me and lucas have been talking about. We want to do that to the mr2 when it is done. I also think you can do more than one rev limit, if you think about it you can have one for launch control and one for pit speed. So yeah it can also be a very annoying cruise control. LOL
sweet idea. we'll definatley do it to the mr2 and im sure theres some way to do it so you can use both launch control and speed limiter with some switches. and dont forget you can also do no-lift shift with it.
ps. Viet, can i have one of your clutch pedal switches? my car doesnt have a typical on-off switch on the clutch pedal
