but most of the stuff they work on are the typical old v8's with 2 valves per cylinder and carbs. I'm wondering why people still put so much work into these old designs when theres new technologies like fuel injection, a bunch of valves per cylinder, direct injection, etc. Maybe its cause they're American engines and people want to stay American wrather than use Japanese and European designs or maybe theres as much performance available from the old tried and true engines. Just something to ponder

if they just wanted to stay american there are way more options, even if they stick to v8. like i've mentioned before the 32 valve all aluminum v8 in my grandma's aurora really impressed me. similar power curve to a revvy 4 cyl, but with gobs of tourque.
