yep got it from this place http://www.rs-autosport.com/. I got the MegaSquirtnEDIS so I can run it with the Ford EDIS ignition (so yea I'm going to use Ford parts). It definatley should be a fun project and if it comes out right I'll have a really cheap standalone thats continuously upgradeable with new features. Im starting out with just the basics using the EDIS but if I learn enough I might try to get my Bosch ignition system working with it. Still have a list of stuff to get
Ford EDIS ignition
GM coolant temp sesnor ( if mine dont work)
GM air temp sensor (if mine doesnt work)
plug and a short harness
LM-1 (maybe, I'll see if it can log wideband or if the sensor needs a driver)
I think the hardest part will be mounting the trigger wheel onto the 1.8t crank pulley. might have to get someone to machine an adapter for it. Now I just have to learn a bunch of stuff mostly physics and calculus cause final exams are coming up also tuning and you guys will have to help me with the programing part and then hopefully after finals it will be ready to go in.
freakin awesome. cant wait to see this in action. if you need some help just let me know, i'll try to read up on it now that you picked one, so i can help you figure some crap out.
that sounds like a pretty good deal. how good is that laptop?
although most of that stuff I already have (or on order) except the edis setup and relay board. I dont know if I really need the relay board so I need to find out if do.
oh I went with Josh today to a computer store and I was looking in this bin of cables and I found a 9pin cable and I was like thats just what I need so I asked the guy how much and he said you can have it Ive got a bunch. It's like 20bucks at Comp USA so thats pretty sweet
well I started mounting the trigger wheel. I decided to make a plate to bolt to the trigger wheel which will bolt to the crank pulley. The plate actually came out decently round. An angle grinder is a pretty useful tool. but here are some pictures
I had to take the bumper off to get to the pulley and I'm just going to go ahead and change the timing belt, water pump, and belts
