My motorbike build

I'll post pics of the process here. Basically what I'm doing is tearing down the rd, restoring it and modifying it. A resto-mod you could say.

This is how it sits now and basically shows the direction I'm going with it.

I'll probably paint the frame and the wheels black and polish a few pieces like the engine, pipes and rear coils. I need to decide what to do for the tank. I may use the stock tank or just get a new tank thats more cafe shaped. Also need to pick a seat or make a seat.

This is what the pipes looked like before on the right and I started cleaning up the one on the left.

Can you guess which piece I started polishing on the engine?

Also I have a RD400 frame free to a good home.

Well its been a long time since I updated. I haven't done too much so far. The frame is somewhat blasted and I'm gonna hopefully take it today to my friend for powdercoating. I'm gonna use the spokes rather than the Rd400 wheels although maybe I'll change em later on. I'm building a custom tank and seat for it. I made a mock up tank and it looked good so I cut the real one out of some stainless which will probably be left bare and welds unfinished. I just have to bend it up and weld it. The seat design still only exists in my head but I'll start on that sometime.
I'll post some pictures today of how it sits now

I think its time for another update. I took some really bad pictures of how it sits now.

It looks about like before but now the frame is powder coated and the tank is made out of stainless. I'm glad i made that mock up tank cause the new one fits perfect and the knee dents feel like they're in just the right spot. Its just tacked together right now. I'm gonna let my buddy weld it up since he's good at welding and it needs to be sealed. It didn't fit together as good as i'd like but oh well, we'll see how it looks after welding. The seat pan is just sitting on there. Theres still alot more but its coming along. I need to order some tires. Any tire suggestions?

I'll have to check out those avon's. That 2-stroke blog is awesome. I love the 2 strokers. Its so much easier than dealing with retarded valves
