my car is slow

tonight on the way home from the euro meet, i found out how slow my car is.

a gold 1g talon tsi with 2 different rims pulled up to me...i downshifted to 2nd and slowed to like 35 i guess. he honked, we floored it and i got the jump on him by like half a car length...then his turbo spooled and he had me by like 6 car lengths by abt 90mph.

then that old mx-6 turbo some of you have seen that went to the wed night import meet pulls up to me. slowed to 50 and he had me by like 2 car lengths by abt 90.

anyway...i want to do some power mods, cuz me car is really slow

well first of all, talons aren't easy to beat. with very little money you can run 12's, and don't even get me started on auto crossing, they usually kill everyone there (if they have atleast an idea how to drive) your cars not that slow.

dude seriously who cares if you got beat by a talon. its a beater. I use to get beat by z28s and firebirds all day long but i just smiled and relize i could take them in a corner anyday of the week. trust me you car is quick. but if you wanna do power mods that cool . just let me know when you wanna install them so i can help..

yeah i guess its not slow, sure felt like it though, hehe. more power would always be fun though. maybe i'll just break down and get a chip.......

yeah dude your car is definately slow hahaha. j/p i mean its pretty much stock in the power department, but on the other hand you do have nice suspension mods. More power could never hurt. I'd defiantely do it.

exhaust is overrrated. you'll probably find better gains with more boost.
oh chips are not the way to go either.

yeah, i wasnt going to buy one anyway.

so i was looking at the flexibility of chips and this is what i found. there are a couple of programs out that you can tweak certain parameters with. i put together a list of what each can do.....

APR's V-Tune

standard control panel -

Boost
Timing
Lambda Regulation
Speed limiter
idle Torque Offset
Idle Speed

Advanced fuel panel -

Main Fuel Scale
Primary Fuel adjustment
Fuel Load Increase
Fuel Load Decrease
Start Fuel Enrichment
Warmup Fuel enrichment

Lemmiwinks by REVO

Idle speed offset
Fuel tweak (accel pump function); increasing loads
Fuel tweak (accel pump function); decreasing loads
startup fuel enrich
warmup fuel enrich
lambda regulation
additive offset to speed limiter
secondary fuel tweak
ignition timing offset
primary fuel tweak
SEL scaling (turbo cars only)
Conrol Bits
Idle tourque additive offset

then theres also the vag-com which can do a bunch of stuff.

anyway, most this stuff is meant for tweaking the values a little for climate, small mods, fuel octane etc. but at least there is some flexibility. oh and they're all free, just need a cable. and for the APR prog. you have to have and APR chip. the REVO program, you just have to be chipped. so if i got an APR chip i could use both.

after looking some more....i think you might have to have v-tune "enabled" to use it. which costs money. i hate apr

how good is the tuning though? can you chane timing or fuel based on rpm?

I know the basic apr chip is 500 and vtune is extra so thats expensive

no its not really THAT flexible. its just that throwing standalone on a year old car seems kinda wierd, like it really shouldnt. i really have no clue what im going to do
