........stunt driving

So I've always wanted to do a stunt driving type of course, seems like they're pretty expensive (not that i thought they'd be cheap). I guess they average around $1200 for a 2 to 3 day course that involves some class time learning about the handling and such, then they take you out on the course to learn high speed slaloms (forward and reverse), 180s, reverse 180's (left and right), sliding 90s, and so on. i think it would be awesome to do this one day, maybe road trip out there and such.

anyone else think they'd be in sometime in the near future?

Not really the same thing but there are drift events at OSW once a month. $60 for entry fee. Just have to pass tech, all lugs nuts are there and tightened down, battery tie-down, nothing in the truck/hatch that can fly around, and a fire extingusher.

There are some skilled drivers out there that will ride along with you to help you out and give you pointers. Its just a practice so you don't have to feel bad about ending up in the dirt or spinning out.

speaking of drift stuff...the people from enjuku racing are trying to put something together with the petty driving experience for a drift school at the track at disney.  Right now its on a really informal basis, you throw a mystery sum of money at them and they teach you to drift for two days in some 350z's.

when i went to check it out they had enjuku's 350z with one of their drivers and the guy that owns braille batteries and his car teaching two random dudes they found.

maybe we could find some instructional videos on youtube and go practice in a parking lot

i like that idea. we could get some cones and set them up in the parking lot and try our own box parking and stuff.

i wonder where we could find a lot that would work.........

I would advise against street drifting or anything of the kind. Come out to the event. Its going to be apr. 5th. I think the gates open at 4 and it goes well untill 12. That's plenty of seat time. Only thing thats really going to limit you is the amount of tires you bring and how many people are out there. But people typically get alot of runs in.

If you ask someone to give you pointers they will. Ask for Josh or Jason, they are the two that run the thing there. Any of the FC drivers that are out there. They are really good and will help alot. Everyone is really nice and help out new comers. Dont' worry about being laughed at because its a practice people go into the dirt and don't hold drifts around the whole track.

Not knocking enjuku, I know all the guys that worked there personally, but anything they hold wouldn't be that cheap. They need money.

Josh is suppose to be holding a gymkana (sp) but I'm not sure when that will happen. If it does I'll let you guys know.

Oh yeah sorry to hear you drive a FF jk. smile

Again sorry to come off as being a jerk about street sliding but lately the news has been giving drifters a bad rep and these events are put on to help deter them. Every weekend there is an event somewhere in fl. The max drive time is about 4 hrs. away. Just keep it safe.
