actually a guy that owns a mini cooper, and frequents my job was down there today. he took an S-load of pic's. once i get a hold of them i'll let you guys know. i got signed off for being SOLO now tho, and took Louis out for a couple laps before i packed it up. it was a good day, no problems, couldn't ask for more.

Also there were several baller-ass car's there today. one of them being a 3 day old bugatti veyron. it had a paint chip in it along with bug damage, and he was beating the crap out of the car. he was also wearing a FXX firesuit, you can only get that suit if you own a Ferrari FXX. this man has alot of money, but it isn't clean money!!!!

Thank you good my sir! you owe me a ride too lou!

Lou got to ride in a Ferrari 360 challenge car whilst it battled out with the red and black rx8 from the rolex. from what i understand it was sick! there was still an hour left when i packed up, and i tried to see if i could get a ride but was unable.

yeah, that 360 car was crazy awesome. Lou had the time of his life in that thing. I had fun in a boxster S that was one of the fastest cars in the beginner/intermediate run group. He was good, and so was his car. but nothing compared to the ferrari I imagine. I don't think I'll back to one of those until I am registered and racing though, too much envy in my eyes the entire day. was a fun one time event though.

you know, while your waiting for something to happen jon, why don't you just drive the RX-7? pretty much this whole time you could've been improving your skills and abilities. i understand that the car is not you, but it can still be a useful tool to in helping you become a better driver.

also, what do you think about this? i do understand you love for the A4, i understand you goal too. alot of people our age have aspirations to do big things. And i'm not trying to say you need to give up, but what about giving things a rest for a little while. it may seem as though your very close to getting that thing to run, but its just the start of a long trail and error. 034 motorsports took 2 years and a ton of money to get their car running. i'm not saying you can't do it either. but i bet there will be a better time in your life to tackle this project than right now.

it just bothers me to see someone with talent like you jon, and not do anything about it. what if you brushed up on your skills, got some track time under your belt. learned about what it takes to make a car a great handling car before you put effort and time in making more mistakes than improvements. You have shown us that it is easy to throw a car together, but what about doing it right?

yeah I mean going to the go kart track all the time doesnt really make you a better driver in a car.....just a go kart. I second the idea of keeping the rx-7. It cant be that bad, if you leave the motor stock what can really go wrong, and if it is stock only common wear and tear items can go bad. All you would need are some tires, brakes, and maybe some suspension.

The funny thing is that I agree with all that. Although driving is not really why I chose to keep the audi. I love driving and I want to keep improving my driving skills. Actually I feel like co-driving other cars has helped me out alot. But I had the crazy dream that I would be a racecar engineer. So to improve my racecar engineering skills I did alot of research and read alot. But like anything else you cant learn everything from a book, you need experience. So I decided I would take a car to the next level to learn more. I chose the audi because it would give me a better budget and have a better chance in SM. An FC will probably never beat the FD's wider track and shorter wheelbase in an autocross. I wanted to really plan the build up and do all the nerdy engineering stuff. Take my time and learn about everything related to the performance of a vehicle. Since then I screwed myself by not selling the rx7. Also I decided that I dont want to be a racecar engineer anymore. I still want to continue on with project audi and continue doing the nerdy stuff to it. I find it interesting and there are also benefits. For example: I have been learning this 3-d modeling software to model various parts that I plan to fabricate. Then I find this job opening that uses the same software, email the guy and and bingo he emails me back " I'd like to interview you first since you have experience". So doing this project actually helps me transition into career mode which is something I need to do even though I dont want to at all. I'm trying to take a more professional approach to the build up. Doing it the right way you might call it. (personally I dont like the "right way" mentality. It implies there is only one right way to do something when really there are many right ways to do almost everything.)

So that is why I keep ignoring your guy's incessant plea for me to keep the rx7. I love the car but I shouldnt have bought it. Its not that I like the audi more or anything it just makes more sense (to me). And promise me this. From here on out......We win Daytona!

Ps: Merry Christmas

Ps^2: I dont think I've lost much seat time in my toil between cars. I've autocrossed as much as I normally do.

Ps^3: I just wanted to cube it.
