Well most of you know I have the CRX now and well i have had a few problems with it and tonight it has yet another problem that occurs when i am making turns. I am 90% sure it is the CV. My rant is that i am sick of working on cars the night b4 a auto x just to make it there. I am over working on other peoples left of projects......I thought i would never say this but i am looking for a new car with a/c and a warranty. I am over it and done.
i vote the same. Despite the fact that I picked one of the slowest newer cars, I can race whenever and I don't have to worry about it breaking. It's not quite as fast, but that doesn't mean not fun. of course, I've never driven a fast car autocrossing before...someday...

Think of it this way, as I was about 99% into the process of picking up an 02 SE 6Spd Miata. While awesome that one could afford such a car with X amount of downpayment. Think about every month how much it will cost you to fully insure a newer car with a car payment. That is how I looked at it. Say you buy a car, and it's say 300 bucks a month for payment, and then like 200-250 for full insurance(at least for me, on a Miata). That is say 550 bones just for the privelage of having the car in your posession. And are you going to not modify it? We're not stupid Lou, and neither are you, you'll still want suspension, and whatever your sillyness lusts about. That's just the way it is. You're like me. You just need to find the "right" car. It's really really tough, too many options. Why? Well, I feel it's because we both had AW11's, 85's at that. I end up comparing all the cars I've owned/driven to that, and I assume my AW11 was 'normal' and all the cars I've driven besides that just suck. So maybe that's what you need? Another deuce. I know I'm starting to look.
But back to the payment thing, say you buy X car for 2000 bucks. Ok, so the a/c doesn't work, and it needs a few things, but you got a good deal and you feel good about it. And instead of next month paying 300 bucks for a car payment(of which 1/3 goes to interest mind you) you spend it on fixing the a/c. Or that p/s leak, or whatever. Point is, anyone can go out and buy a new car, big whoop, but does my head turn for MRS Spyders? No, I look for that one white AW11 running around town, see him with the windows up and imagine him cruising with the a/c on in the dead of summer.
Don't get me wrong, when I can afford a car with a warranty, I'm going to do it, I can't wait, but it's not going to be 'that car'. It's just going to be my travel-mobile. Not my therapy. If you can afford it, then go for it. Hell, I can afford it, I just can't rationalize it, 300 car payment? In four months I could have spent that money on good suspension. I've done the payment thing before, with my Miata. And it was ok, but writing that check every month was like seeing mods going down the drain, that's how I saw it. And it sucked.
I dont know, i really miss the mr2 and yeah that is the one car i regret ever selling. Simple mods mods and fun as hell to drive. My thing is though i will never find that car again. But now i need to focus on this car and what to do to it. Keep it sell it what?......I dont want to sell it and get another old car with problems cause that is gonna get me no were. SO the only other option is to buy a new car. But like steve said and i was thinking about in the last 24 hours is i would spend 500 a month on this car or whatever new car i would get.....that is enough one month to fix the a/c, the next month get the roll bar, and the next month get the koni yellows.
What is pssing me off so bad right now is the fact the I still have to buy tires and get the clutch and put it in b4 sebring and i feel like i am never gonna get those things done because i am always fixing other stupid problems on this car.
When I mean I am over this car i am just sick of it, maybe that it is because i have put about 40 hours in this car just on one stupid problem that on my way home today happend again, maybe it is cause there is so much other crap to fix, or maybe it is cause the car really is a POS...I dont know.
All i know is i have 3 days to decide about sebring and right now as the car sits and the way i feel i am not going.
a NEW car is tempting, but yeah, makin those payments every month suck. a/c is overrated and you know if you get a new car it start fallin apart as soon as the warranty is up. i'd rather get a used car and make it fun......and still be able to afford to put gas in the tank.
no i am kinda getting excited about the CRX alot, just pissed over the weekend cause of my stupid problem with the car. after sebring, fix a/c, koni yellows, and auto power roll bar
