Help Steve pick a Dragon Wagon.

So! Sold the big bike, the FZR, good deal. Still have the Honda, needing to pick up another ride. I'm thinking something daily driveable, but still something I can get some good parts for, and can be made fun. Few things have crossed my mind. And they include, but are not limited to:

S13, cheap, and have rockin A/C systems, and stupid amount of parts available.
MK2,MK3 VW, same deal, but not sure about A/C and fwd...I dunno
Miata, yeah. This I think is a silly idea, but man do I want one. It would take me a bit to save up for one, as I want a decent one..so it would mean more time, and I want to get something together for September, so not sure.

What do you guys suggest? I'm open to other ideas too, I want opinions. I like the S13 only because I know them relatively well, and I know they are reliable and can be made to handle very..very well, and I know someone with some GTR brakes for sale(ahem..Ian). But I also really like the roadster, I however think that I could go overboard with mods, which is something I don't want. And it's a little unpractical for 'right now' only because it has zero space. And, I've seen an S13 tow a motorcycle before, which...is awesome.

Btw, pic of the current state of the Cafe...

Mmhmm..

Steve

Oh and add the AW11 Chassis to that list up there...always wanted another..

Basically just like the shows on tv. You gotta build the whole thing in rough form, then get everything painted/powdercoated, or what have you. It's very tedious, and I'm waiting on parts(story of my life with this build).

here are a few links to some cars I was looking at:

(yes I know it's auto)

Oh and one more option, just keep the Chevy, and finish the cafe. And start the ball rolling to awesomeness with this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=014&sspagename=STRK%3AMEBI%3AIT&viewitem=&item=330146722918&rd=1

Downsides to Chevy:
No support, no a/c, and god forbid I get in a wreck, the thing is made of tinfoil.

Plus sides:
I already own it. It is wickedly unique. Surprisingly roomy inside. And very 'flickable'.

Few more options to throw into the mix. There is a 93 Infiniti Q45 for sale, I loved my other one. And this chassis takes coilovers from a 300zx. It would be my version of a '53 Merc. Think satin black, smoothies(wheels, google it), slammed, and with some pinstriping, not the tape kind. It can tow, and it's got one of the most beautiful sounding engines ever, in my opinion. And shoots out 270HP? and like 292 ft. lbs, quad cam v8. It's lovely.

Then there is another. I was thinking I might go and finance a newer car, be it a roadster or what have you. I'd like to work on getting my credit back up, and it's be nice to have a car with sub 100k on it, something I can just get in and go. And I found a 02 SE Miata at a dealer, with some gaudy effing wing and body kit, but SE's have 6 speeds, and they are asking 3k below book. So that's always a thought.

What do you guys think about the financing option? I said I wouldn't do it again, but I really need some steady payments to show up on my report to get myself back on track. But I also would love to just go and buy the Q and be done with it. But with the Q comes expensive things if things break/go wrong. Thoughts?

Steve

Oh and ETA on full on cafe action? Not sure, depends what happens with the car situation, if I get another ride, and use the money from the FZR, then it might be a while. But if not, might be short. I'm waiting on some parts at the moment, it's really the only thing holding me up right now.

Finance the miata. Its a fun car and you will be more likely to keep it and it will be reliable.

or you can be a G and pick up that 45 and put some chrome 34s on it. A q45 would defiately be different. do they even come with a manual gearbox?

No sir they do not, and there is no option for a hybrid either, the tranny tunnel is basically like a fortress. I added up the numbers on financing, and I just don't think it's for me right now. So scratch that. The Q wouldn't be a race car, at all, just a cruiser. Think this:

But with an imported flare. Don't tell anyone, but I'm a huge fan of that 'scene' I guess you'd call it. Back when I was in NY me and my dad went to a lot of shows. Dare I say that's what I grew up on.
