I've been up for some sort of adventure lately. I'm thinking maybe a bike ride really far, like something that would take like 2 days. (tampa to orlando?) Or maybe sail across the bay on my hobie cat. or something else. I'm up for suggestions. Anyone have ideas, or want to join in. whatever we do, we have to be able to train, and prepare. thats why i'm thinking biking, cuz i have a bike and could train. and i think it would be kinda hard. let me know
ive been wanting to do a trip like that for a long time. a long time ago i wanted to ride to bradenton but it doesnt really seem like much of a trip anymore. im thinking either my place to sebastian or your apt to sebastian. and actually 60 probably wouldnt be that bad because they're 4 laning it so we could ride on the new part of that. im not sure about the other parts though. i sort of remember a big emergency lane but its kinda fuzzy. but yea that would be awesome to ride across the state. 11 hours of riding is a long time but im pretty sure we could do it especially with some training.

what are you gonna ride. i think i'm still gonna try to pick up an old road bike, and just give it a tune up. Probably even fashion some saddlebags, and i'll carry a back pack.

ill just ride the mountain bike because i dont want anyone to see me on a road bike. but maybe ill get some roady tires for it
im still not sure on the trip. but i assume we'd go over winter break. I want to make sure we're ready though. I dont want to set a deadline and have not trained enough to make it.
im pretty sure that we could make it if we did it now but training would make the trip more comfortable and not as painful. i think we should be ready by winter break. we need to start planning the route and planning a way to pack stuff like tools and toilet paper.
so whats the progress on your adventure? still trying to figure out what to do? you guys should bike to some vw/audi meet or honda meet with so cool apc stickers on your rides.
interesting....being a 2 day trip though, i think we're going to need meals too. High protien, carbs, potassium for cramps and soreness. low sugar. then we can have that power bar kinda stuff for the ride. i def say a mix of water and gatorade. like water in the camel, then gatorade bottles like that one guy said.
gabe might wanna go too. and he said you can buy a bike at his store and theres a period that you can bring it back and they just charge you 50 bucks. So, theoretically you could, depending on how much money you can front or your credit card limit, get a full carbon insane bike and use it for the trip for 50 bucks......
thats cool we might have a convoy going cross state. which shop does gabe work at? i might take my bike to him and see if he can tighten my bottom bracket.
i signed up and rode bmx at the lake park track. its pretty sweet. i might be getting a cruiser or a 20" and start racing but i dont know if the car will let me.
i cant fix my bike.....i dont have the money for getting it fixed or buying the tool. if you can get it fixed over the break when you get yours....i'm in....
i couldn't get off work in time for this one so we have to plan another one so i can ride it. maybe i could get some local people from the bikeforum to join us?
