don't let 87slowrider paint your car.

It's been a while since I've posted on here, I've had a super busy summer thus far. But there's something on my chest that I need to get off, and out there to everyone else.

So back in March, I asked Joel (87slowrider) if he would be able to fix the rust on my car and respray it. He looked over the FX, and agreed to do it. When I got it back, there were some things that needed finishing: some pieces were not painted the way I asked him to, some pieces were painted that I did not even want painted, some pieces were painted half-assed, and the body needed wet sanding and buffing to get rid of the overdrips that ran throughout. He knew that it needed more work, and told me to bring it by whenever so he can finish. I've done that once already, but with minimal success due to rain. So we decided to reschedule whenever I had a chance to give him the car. Since then I've tried to call him, all which has amounted to nothing.

Well guess what... it's been almost four months and the FX is still not finished. Everything stated above still needs to be done, and to make it worse the rust that he "removed" has come back, and quicker than when my dad and I bandaged it up a few years back so it wouldn't spread (which he also agreed to fix again and respray the roof). So where is Joel? Who knows... no one answers the phone anymore at his house. His mom used to answer and say either "he just left" or "he's still at work", but I don't even get that anymore.

I know that him getting away with this neglegence is a tad bit my fault because I have not yet to personally show up at his house to say "wtf mate?" to his face. But as I stated above, I've had a busy summer thus far (working part time and interning in an art department full time takes up most of my days). This is also why I haven't gone out to the meets in a while, too. Actually, the last time I went had to do with confronting him there, but he never showed up. So not only am I telling everyone on here to not trust him with your car, but if anyone runs into him, PLEASE press on him the fact that he is royally dicking me over right now... to the point where I want to sell my car the first chance I get. Being a coward is silly, and it's just not right.

Thanks guys,
Kyle

1st of all simply find someone/ a body shop that is going to paint your door jams, inside the trunk , fix most  of the rust and paint the whole ****ing car basecoat w/clearcoat for  $600  and   2nd you ask me to paint you moldings black now it becomes a 2 tone pant job at a shop thay would charg you extra. you also told me the car was never painted  but when I called toyota for the paint coad thay said that the car should be selver so then i hade to have the paint matched that would have also been an extra charge I  remember you telling me that you went to body shop and got an etament of  $1400 for only white so my bill of 600 dollers isn'n so BAD... I told you I work in my back yard and the paint isn't going to be a "show car paint job" at least not for $600 so maby you should go to a body and have them respray your car insted of bitching to people that don't know our agreement of a $600 paint jobconfused

You probably could have gotten in contact with Kyle after his many attempts to do so. I think that is the main gripe here.

"1st of all simply find someone/ a body shop that is going to paint your door jams..."
    - ...no. First of all, you never even painted my door jams.

"2nd you ask me to paint you moldings black now it becomes a 2 tone pant job at a shop thay would charg you extra."
-Two tone paint job? Whoah whoah whoah... How is my car two tone? Is the top half of the car white, and the bottom half black? No. How hard is it to mask around the side moldings on the bottom on the doors, remove the faded red pin stripe, paint the moldings black, and stick on a new red pin stripe? Instead you skimped it and now it looks like crap. Did you want me to buy a new red pin stripe? And what about all of the pieces that I took off the car (for your convenience) that you were to paint black? Nothing happened because you never painted them. Again, was it too hard to paint them black, give them to me, and I could put them back on myself?

"you also told me the car was never painted  but when I called toyota for the paint coad thay said that the car should be selver so then i hade to have the paint matched that would have also been an extra charge"
-I might have told you that, because I never painted it. The previous owner(s) might have had it painted. That was something I didn't know about. Big whoop. Next time I'll include a CarFax report. Might as well if you're going to charge me for using brainpower to find some cans of bright white paint.

"I told you I work in my back yard and the paint isn't going to be a "show car paint job" at least not for $600"
-Show car? Oh please... since when did I want it to be a show car? When I first talked to you, what was my main concern? Fixing the rust was my main concearn. You couldn't even do that. When you sit there, examine my car, and say "yeah, I can fix that", I believed you. I also expected good results, not a band aid job that anyone could have done. And don't even try to say that working in your back yard is an excuse for poor workmanship. Your Golf looks pretty good, Lou's old MR2 looked pretty good, Victor's (or Vincent's, I'm sorry if I messed that up) Jetta looks pretty good, and to top it off you were even recommended by someone else for good work. I also know you that screwed someone else over in the past, which I found out after I got my car back. But I won't get into that...

"so maby you should go to a body and have them respray your car insted of bitching to people that don't know our agreement of a $600 paint job"
-That's strikes 2 and 3 right there. If I knew you were going to do such a terrible job fixing my rust alone (again... my main concearn), then yes I would have saved up some more money and gone to PROFESSIONALS. Instead of nodding your head after everything and say "yeah, I can do that", speak up and say what you are and are not capable of doing. Because for a guy that is allegedly good with paint and body work, there's a lot that you apparently cannot do. And that $600 paint job was the price that YOU offered me, and I agreed on... IN FRONT OF MAJORITY OF THE GUYS THAT WERE AT THE MEET THAT NIGHT. And yes, I am bitching. You know why? Because you act like you live underneath a rock and can't call someone back. I couldn't get a hold of you for months now.

I have valid reasons for calling you out. You don't have valid reasons for your response, because for the most part you're talking about service that you never even did. If you're trying to turn this into a business, then you're already running it into the ground.
