Yeah its true i wanna go this weekend, i am bored with meets and standing around looking at cars. I wanna have some fun with my ****ty suspension. But whatever.....who's in
well in a week or so when all the wedding stuff is out of the way and i'm back from the honeymoon i'm all in for autox events, now that the civic has had the facelift i'm lookin into what kind of mods i wanna go for this time around. but i'd like to see how the civic dodges cones now while its still almost completely stock.
p.s. i could only do sunday events on occasion cuz i can't really afford to not work on sundays. but other than that i'm all in!
Hey guys, I know I'm never on here, but I really want to try autox. Is there any locations that are better than others for first timers? I was thinking about Deland on April 22nd. I think I could make that. Would anyone else want to go? just let me know thanks. email is grumbanumba5@gmail.com. -Eric
awesome, thanks. They have helmets you can use right? so I don't have to go buy one to autox or would you suggest it? and is there room there to leave stuff, like my spare tire, during the races, cause I don't want to drive an hour away without a spare in the car. Anything else I should know? thanks man. I'll try to get that day off.
You can take all that out when you get there, its common practice. For a helmet, I would say get your own, some older DOT approved motorcycle helmets can go for as cheap as $20, just make sure they fit your head properly.
But remember, water/gatorade, cooler, tools, SUNSCREEN and sunglasses. Oh and welcome.

Are you going to the CFR-E deland Autox on Sunday? I believe I could make that as well. But I think I need new tires, at least in the back. Are they strict about tire tread, and how much do you need to pass inspection? Another thing, is it smart to Autox my civic with no suspension mods at all? I know if I do it all the time, it'll screw things up and need alignment and stuff, right? but what about once? Thanks for your help, can't wait! Where would you go to get a used helmet like that? Are you guys that are going this weekend meeting before you head out? Where? I work sat night from 3-11. cya
as long as threads arent showing i dont see a problem and your bad tires are in the back so they really dont do much besides come along for the ride, unless your gonna try to drift around the cones.....Also i dont see you auto xing this weekend messing up your alingment. We are gonna meet at 6:45 at joels house. Lucas probably wont be there cause he is never on time and always late. Were do you live?
Here's my back tire(having too much fun with super macro mode!)
I don't know if I've ever seen threads on tires, but I don't see any on mine. I think they still have decent traction for backs. I live in Boardwalk, on alafaya and research prkwy, right next to UCF. where does Joel live? if you give an address I can google map it. and you are going to deland on sunday right? and 6:45AM obviously? That would be awesome. thanks again.
Is there any chance you can meet up with us like tonight or tomorrow. Lucas and I will be out tonight and you are more than welcome to meet up with us. Umm, or if you have free time I work kinda by UCF you stop by my job and we can talk. I work at the Oviedo Mall. Just give me a call today and i can try to help you out the best I can. 407-879-2395, give me a call when ever.
where in the mall do you work? I can stop by before I go to work tomorrow at 2. I'll be at the drag strip on colonial tonight if you wanna meet me there and race possibly. if you go, call me when you get there at 941-224-8156.
well i got my sponser and i work right by the movie theater. If you walk in the mall you will see me. Also if you want just give me a call whenever.....407-879-2395
Well today was awesome, my first time back in like 2 years and I got 1st place in STS and Lucas also got 1st in H stock. Today was awesome couldnt ask for anything more.
yes. it was fun, close racing. constantly going back and forth between competitiors. i've haven't had as much fun at an autocross before. it's the first time being so competitive. with the bug i was in Street Modified, a class full of evo's sti's and 240z's with double the amount of stock boost, and all on slicks. now i need to get a set of my own tires. (used Vann's tires he bought for his MINI)

I agree, that autox was awesome, except for the me sucking. It was my first time though, but I got like a 41 or 42 and the instructor got a 38 in my car, oh well. haha, he had to ride in the back seat cause i took out my passenger, it was funny. but I had to ride there too, fun stuff though, MAN HE COULD DRIVE! thanks for taking me out there Louis and Lucas! we'll have to go to Gainesville sometime.
Well way to pop your cherry. Don't worry about speed/times, that will come with experience. I am sure it was a mind over-loading with everything that was being thrown at you. Just be happy you have started a new and wonderful addiction.
Over time, you will build a muscle/mental memory to it, which translates into being smoother, and in turn, confidently drive your car to the limit.
Edit: I got the Gainesville itch.

well you and me both, i cant wait to go. I think I am gonna go to the auto x out there the weekend b4. If anybody wants to ride with me they get to drive my car home!!
^Run down 50 and stop at a few of the used tire places. I had a friend that got 195/70-16 for $30 a matching pair and it had a ton of tread on them. He could of went so low as $15 a pair, but they didn't match and the tread was weak.
