Tuning for Audi/VW?

I was wondering if you audi/vw were to say up your boost and get a larger turbo let say t3/t4 how would you take care of the necessary fuel upgrades? and how much would it cost?

PS- I dont think you can just chip it so this takes some thinking. lol

actually you can just chip it.  a couple companies have "big Turbo" software out.  Revo's is about $700.00 for the software, that guy with the 337 with a t3/t4  in the ecco has it running ~2.5 bar...stock internals.  other ways to fuel it is injectors, fpr, fuel pump, maf, mbc and piggyback.  or standalone is an option since the other **** is so expensive anyway.

but if you just chip it then wouldn't you need to upgrade your injectors or fuel pump? What are the stock injectors rated at anyway?

Would be cool to get it to work, but I doubt it is. Do you even know the ecu wiring? Has anyone in the audi/vw world have one working?

this is from some random person on vortex

I got it installed and half way functioning.

The previous "tuner" that tried to install it only got 1 wire correct if you don't count power and ground when he tried so my first step in the process was to remove his handy work and make sure nothing was dead.

during installation i discovered that the engine speed sensor that the SAFC2 needs in order to determine RPM doesn't supply the proper type of signal. the engine speed signal that the bosch motronic system uses is much different that what the japanese carmakers rely on for their ecu's. i solved this problem by taking the rpm signal from the green/orange wire at the coil pack and telling the AFC that it's recieving a 2cyl rpm signal. It appears to me that the motronic system runs a 4 cylinder's ignition system like it's actually 2 2-cylinder motors.

The next problem i encountered was that the other "tuner" didn't pay attention to which type of Mass Airflow Meter was on this car. I solved that by doing about 30 minutes of homework and configuring the AFC to utylize the proper type of AFM.

After all that was sorted out getting the TPS hooked up was a breeze, that was just a matter of finding the 0-5v wire that changed in relation to throttle position - bada-bing, bada-boom!

the last signal the AFC needed was the knock sensor but i'm not sure that it will work with the bosch 2wire units - most japanese cars use single wire knock sensors so that is going to take some more study time to get right - if possible. otherwise it can be disconnected and not loose a terrible amount of functionality.

currently the SAFC2's signals aren't being recieved by the motronic because an AF meter code was induced and the computer is supplying a static figure for fuel calculations until it is reset - i'll do that tomorrow.

so... the SAFC2 can be installed and so long as resetting the computer works to re-enable the MAF input it should all work just fine. Just remember to get the engine speed signal from the coil pack and set the car as a 2cyl!
